Quick Grade, referred to as “Quick Eval” in official D2L Brightspace Brightspace documentation, is a new tool that gives instructors a single location in the main NavBar in which to view and grade all unevaluated student submissions across all their courses.

Step 1. To access Quick Grade, click Quick Grade from the More Tools drop-down menu in the navigation bar.

Step 2. Once in the Quick Grade tool, you will see that submissions made to Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions are displayed in a sortable list. Clicking on a user’s name opens an evaluation screen where the instructor can complete their assessment.

Instructors can view by, sort, filter, and search submissions to prioritize their evaluation work.

  1. View By Submissions or Activities. Viewing by Submissions will display all user submissions, regardless of the course or activity they come from. Viewing by Activities allows instructors to view only submissions associated with a specific activity. You can switch between these views by clicking the buttons towards the top of the page.
  2. Sorting can be done by the first or last name of the student, Activity Name, Course Name, or Submission date. Simply click the category you would like to sort by to reorganize the submissions.
  3. Filtering can be done using one or more of the following categories: Activity Name, Course Name, and Submission Date. To filter, click the Filter dropdown in the top right corner of the page and select the activity, course, or date you would like to filter by.
  4. Searching allows instructors to locate submissions for evaluation by searching for a specific user, assignment, quiz, discussion topic, or course. To search, type the user, submssion, or course you are looking for in the search box in the top right corner of the page and click the magnifying glass icon.

Step 3. Once you complete an evaluation, publish your feedback, and/or save it as a draft, you can return to the Quick Grade list to continue evaluating. Any assessment awaiting evaluation or with its evaluation saved in draft status displays in Quick Grade. When student submissions have been graded, they no longer appear in the Quick Grade list.
