If you have a locally saved video that you would like to add to your D2L course it is recommended that you upload the video to the Capture streaming server for best performance in playback for your students.
Before starting, please review and understand the FERPA considerations as related to recorded Zoom lectures
(If you have a video recorded to the Zoom cloud, see the entry on downloading videos from Zoom)
Start by logging in to the Capture Portal at https://hosting2.desire2learncapture.com/mgh/1.aspx using your D2L credentials.
Once logged in you will see an "Admin" menu option. Click to navigate to the Admin area.
- From the menu options select "Upload Video".
- Click the "Upload File" button and select the video from your computer. Please note that your video must be in one of the following formats: .mp4, .flv, .f4v, .m4v, .mov.
- Give your video a title.
- Select your program folder to store your video.
- Click "Publish" to upload.
Once your video is published it will automatically be tagged with your D2L username and will be ready for upload to your course. However, depending on
the size of your video, it may take up to 20 minutes to transcode before it will be viewable. Click here for more information about posting Capture videos to your course.
